Stand. Vote. Engage. Change.
WHAT? It’s two years since our last elections. This year, we have 14 seats available open to all GPs on the National Performers List, working across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.
WHY? Standing for your LMC is a great way to expand your knowledge and skills, while giving a voice to your colleagues in frontline general practice. Now more than ever, the essential role of the LMC is to represent, support and advise local GPs and practice teams, navigating General Practice towards ‘a new normal’. If you have often wondered about becoming a member of the LMC, your time is now.
HOW? All the work of the LMC reflects the will of the Committee. This is your opportunity to become a part of that representative process. Dynamic, effective and authentic local representation is vital. By standing for election to the Committee, you can help make a personal difference to all your colleagues and find a new source of peer support for yourself. We will help you to understand a deeper knowledge of the contractual, commissioning and regulatory landscape.
WHO? Those eligible to vote are: GP Partners, Salaried GPs, GP Retainers, Locum GPs, Out of Hours GPs, Prison GPs, Portfolio GPs. We take our commitment to equality and inclusionseriously with fresh perspectives and new ideas always welcome and we encourage participation from as broad a range of GPs as possible. At least three seats will be protected for sessional GP members.
WHERE? We meet ten times a year, on Thursday afternoons, remotely at present due to covid restrictions. We anticipate future meetings will probably be a mixture of remote and face-to-face. Time spent on formal LMC activities are reimbursed via an honoraria, or to practices for back-fill, to recognise the commitment to the role.

Single Constituency. The Committee has considered constituency boundaries and how seats should be distributed within them, and has agreed to have a single constituency covering the whole of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The Electoral Roll. Unfortunately, the data we require from the National Performers List to keep our database up to date is no longer accessible (thanks GDPR) so we rely on our members to keep us informed. If you know a local GP who has not received this notification – please get them to email us!
Disclaimer: Every effort has been made to ensure our electoral roll is fully up to date. If you receive an email error, if you receive duplicate emails, if you receive an email to an address you’d prefer us not to use, please get in touch with us on 01954 268156 or firstname.lastname@example.org
