Job summary

Are you a newly qualified GP (within the last two years, without a substantive post) looking for an exciting and supportive role to launch your career?  Moat House Surgery in Warboys are seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking GP to join our team on a fixed-term salaried contract until the end of March 2026.  We require 4 sessions per week (Wednesday and Friday).

Contract will be based on the BMA contract with 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata). One week study leave (pro rata).

Main duties

  • The GP will undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS contract and objectives of Enhanced Services.
  • Share of routine and urgent appointments both face to face and telephone.
  • Prescribe as per local & national guidelines.
  • Share of home visits routine and emergency.
  • Time-manage completion of administration: letters, results, tasks, referrals, telephone calls, emails.
  • Take responsibility for appropriate referrals (following local guidance and good medical practice) and administration pertaining to them.
  • Checking and signing share of repeat prescriptions.
  • Cover for colleagues in exceptional circumstances such as sudden illness.

With a list size of 7,500 patients, Moat House Surgery has a strong emphasis on continuity of care and patient focused services. We are looking for a motivated, caring GP to join our friendly, hardworking team consisting of 4 partners, 1 salaried GP, 2 ANPs, physiotherapist and excellent support from nursing, HCAs and admin teams.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise and entry on the GP register (Certificate of completion date must be within 2 years and not having held a substantive post before).
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR), or equivalent.
  • Included on a medical performers list or eligible.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
