Overview:
Jenner Healthcare formed in January 2022 consisting of one practice covering 3 sites on the outskirts of Peterborough: Thorney, Eye and Whittlesey.
The clinical team consists of 6 partners, 6 Salaried GPs, 1 Diabetes Specialist Nurse, 5 Nurse Practitioners and a Practice Nursing team which consists of Practice Nurses, HCAs and Phlebotomists.
The Pharmacy team consists of a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician and a Dispensary team.
Jenner Healthcare’s current list size is c17,511.
The Practice has a wonderful Administration/Reception team that help to keep clinical administration light, ensuing that clinicians only see the work they need to.
Monthly half day closures take place for all of the team to meet up and share important information and practical training but also, it’s an opportunity for team building.
Each of the 3 Practices hold clinical meetings which include mental health, safeguarding and ward rounds at our local residential / nursing homes. This provides an opportunity for clinical discussion (CPD hours) – all contributions are valued – and helps with the development of its teams.

Job summary / Role
The main part of the role involves supporting the practice management team with day to day tasks.
The role will include but is not exhausted to:
– Seasonal campaigns
– Social media updates
– PPG communication and being the main point of contact
– Assisting with projects
– Rota management
– Ordering of supplies
– Data gathering / Reports
– Complaints
– General system duties
The successful candidate will be expected to work across all branches within Jenner Healthcare on a permanent rota basis. The successful candidate will be expected to work a variety of early and late shifts between the hours of 08:30-18:00, which will be discussed and agreed at interview.
SystmOne experience is desired but not essential.
Communication
- Utilise and demonstrate sensitive communication styles, to ensure patients needs are fully met.
- Communicate effectively with patients and carers, recognising the need for alternative methods of communication to overcome different levels of understanding, cultural background and preferred ways of communicating.
- Anticipate barriers to communication and take action to improve communication.
- Maintain effective communication within the Practice environment and with external Stakeholders.
- Act as an advocate for patients and colleagues.
Team working
- Understand own role and scope and identify how this may develop over time.
- Work as an effective and responsible team member, supporting others and exploring the mechanisms to develop new ways of working.
- Delegate clearly and appropriately, adopting the principles of safe practice and assessment of competence.
- Prioritise own workload.
- Discuss, highlight and work with the team to create opportunities to improve patient care.
- Manage and lead on the delivery of specifically identified services or projects as agreed with the Practice management team.
Management of risk
- Manage and assess risk within the areas of responsibility, ensuring adequate measures are in place to protect staff and patients.
- Monitor work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and free from hazards and conform to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Apply infection control measures within the practice according to local and national
guidelines. - Advocate for policies that reduce environmental health risks, are culturally sensitive and increase access to health care for all.
Managing information
- Use technology and appropriate software as an aid to management in planning,
implementation and monitoring of care, presenting and communicating information. - Manage information searches using the internet and local databases.
- Understand responsibility of self and others to the Practice and primary care trust regarding the Freedom of Information Act.
Learning and development
- Disseminate learning and information gained to other team members in order to share good practice and inform others about current and future developments (e.g. courses and
conferences). - Assess own learning needs and undertake learning as appropriate.
- Provide an educational role to patients, carers, families and colleagues in an environment that facilitates learning.
