Website North West Anglia Foundation Trust
North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust has had a Medical Examiner (ME) service at Peterborough City Hospital for some time. We would now like to extend the service to cover all deaths at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and, over the next few months, to cover all community deaths as well. We are therefore recruiting new Medical Examiners to join the team. We hope to appoint both senior hospital and primary care colleagues. The team is fully integrated and any Medical Examiner can review any death.
We will increase the number of deaths covered gradually over the next few months so can be flexible about when new MEs start the role. If you think you might be interested in taking on the role later in the year I would encourage you to apply now as we may fill all vacant posts with this round of recruitment.
It is anticipated that interviews, lasting up to an hour each, will take place via Teams on Friday March 11th(afternoon) and Monday March 14th (morning).
The interview panel will include the Lead Medical Examiner, Deputy Medical Director for Patient Safety and the Senior Coroner.
To apply, please submit a CV (maximum 4 sides of A4) with a covering letter (maximum 1 side of A4) setting out your relevant experience and interest in the role.
Please send to Suzy.Lishman@nhs.net by 5pm on 11/2/22.
If you would like to observe an ME at work, please contact Frances Wood, Lead MEO, on Frances.Wood1@nhs.net to arrange to visit the ME office at PCH.
