Supporting GPs and General Practices
Your LMC has many years experience of working within the system to support general practice and this breadth and depth of expertise, relationships and resources serves as is a unique source of independent, reliable and trusted advice and support. Our job is to look after you, so you can concentrate on looking after your patients.
We aim to help you know what you need to know and while we deal with day to day questions and queries from GPs and Practice Managers, we also frequently provide support on a broad spectrum of issues, including but not limited to:
- Contractual issues
- Partnership disputes
- Performance procedures (Responding to Performance Concerns)
- Signposting to trusted local coaching/mentoring organisations
- Regulatory issues such as GMC hearings or CQC inspections
- Performers List issues
Pastoral Support Team
The LMC Pastoral Support Team is here to support you when you need us.
From providing free, confidential support relating to individual performance processes or complaints, contractual or partnership issues or signposting to more formal routes of support such as the GP Health service, our GPs and Executive Team have received training to assist you through some difficult scenarios you may face in your career.
Please contact office@cambslmc.org with the subject header Pastoral Support Team and we will allocate you a member as soon as we are able to.
Guidance Documents
These LMC guidance documents reflect the current procedures and rules that applied at the time of writing. They are designed to cover some typical situations that may arise and are inevitably generic in nature to some degree.
For this reason, we always encourage practices to contact us directly to discuss any issues with us, as well as referring to our guidance.

LMC Buying Group
Membership entitles practices to discounts on products and services provided by the Buying Group’s suppliers. Membership is free and there is no obligation on practices to use all the suppliers. However, practices can save thousands of pounds a year just by switching to Buying Group suppliers. To view the pricing and discounts on offer you need to log-in to the Members section of the Buying Group website: https://www.lmcbuyinggroups.co.uk/
Not convinced the Buying Group can save your practice money? Well why not challenge them to do just that! The Buying Group offers a free cost analysis service that aims to show member practices how much money they could save just by swapping to buying group suppliers. They can also provide this service for groups of practices working together. For more information, contact the Buying Group on 0115 979 6910 or email info@lmcbuyinggroups.co.uk.
