Our Team

I qualified from UCL in 2003, and completed my GP training in north London in 2008 having held national negotiating roles for GP Registrars and junior doctors at the British Medical Association (BMA).

I was a partner in a GMS practice until I was invited to become a medical director for Londonwide LMCs in 2016. I joined Cambs LMC in 2018 before taking on the role of Chief Executive in 2019. I have continued to work as a GP throughout, albeit nowadays I practise in a low volume capacity, close to home in Hertfordshire.

Alongside my role leading Cambs LMC, I am currently seconded to the BMA, as the Chair of England’s GP Committee, responsible for negotiating the GMS contract annually, since I was elected in August 2023. Whilst my brain is engaged at BMA House, my heart remains firmly rooted at Cambs LMC.

I worked in primary care commissioning in the NHS in London and Cambridgeshire for almost 20 years and bring detailed knowledge of contracting, commissioning, policy and strategy.

The current ask of general practice is huge – not just in respect of patient demand and growing need, but from a health service that requires its front door to handle more and more without the additional resources to match.

Supporting general practice to find ways to reconfigure services, employ workforce, and maximise job satisfaction is what motivates me each day.

Armed with detailed knowledge of the contracts, regulations, governance and financial flows, and passion for ensuring the strength and future resilience of general practice, I ensure the input I bring to the LMC is accurate and up to date.

I qualified from UCL on 2002 and have been working as a GP partner since 2006, and have recently changed to being a salaried GP to better focus on my other roles.  I’m the Named GP for Child Safeguarding for Mind and South Essex ICS, sit on the BMA GP Committee for Essex and am also a Director of the GP Defence Fund.  Alongside my role as Medical Director here at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough LMC, I’m the vice-chair of North Essex LMC.

I’ve experience of healthcare commissioning, having been the vice-chair of Mid-Essex Clinical Commissioning Group previously.  I also provide safeguarding training for NB Medical and DFTB.

When I’m not doing all of this, I spend all my time with my wife, two daughters, and whippet at home in Chelmsford.  I’m also trying and failing to get better at chess.

Starting my NHS career in 2000, I have supported local NHS General Practice in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough for over 20 years now.  Joining Cambs LMC in 2018, I brought extensive experience of interpreting and implementing NHS policies and regulations, detailed knowledge of performers lists, appraisal & revalidation requirements and supporting practitioners through local NHS and national regulatory performance procedures.

My role at the LMC  supports my passion to seek to improve working processes, provide pastoral support and advise constituents on often complex issues as well as interpreting national guidance and translating this into up-to-date resources for local General Practice. 

For over 20 years, I have worked predominantly in the education sector and have extensive experience ranging from secondary school age to postgraduate level education.  Having studied and achieved a degree in Leadership and Management, since joining Cambs LMC in 2021, I have been able to use my passion for education and experience in managing business operational functions to develop and deliver our Business Fundamentals courses for both GPs and Practice Managers, providing the tools, knowledge and skills to support the management of successful practices within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

As Lead for Committee, Governance and Business I am also responsible for ensuring the  committee runs smoothly and efficiently, as well as ensuring office systems and governance support the delivery of the key aims and objectives of the LMC

Molly joined the team in 2023 bringing with her organisational, retail, and operational experience from her previous roles which have provided her with transferable skills to use at Cambs LMC.

Molly ably supports and assists the Executive team in the smooth running of committee processes, meetings, and events.  Molly may be a familiar face to some, as she is an experienced member of the clinical exam invigilation team at Cambridge University Medical School, which has whet her appetite with insight and a desire to support doctors and healthcare professionals.
