Locum Practice Nurse
Contract: Locum – approximately 3 months
Hours: Approximately 18 hours per week across 2 days
Start date: Immediate
Location: Trumpington Street Surgery and Clay Farm Medical Practice, Cambridge
Pay: Dependent on experience
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Locum Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive nursing team for approximately three months, with an immediate start.
The successful candidate will work approximately 18 hours per week across two days, providing high-quality nursing care within our busy, well-established GP practice.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be competent and experienced in:
- Cervical screening
- Childhood immunisations and vaccinations
- Complex wound care and dressings
Additional duties, depending on experience and competencies, may include:
- Adult immunisations and vaccinations
- Chronic disease management, including asthma, COPD and diabetes reviews
- General treatment room duties
- Health promotion and preventative care
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an NMC-registered nurse with current registration
- Has recent experience working as a Practice Nurse in general practice
- Is fully trained and competent in cervical screening, childhood immunisations and complex wound management
- Can work confidently and independently within their competencies
- Has excellent communication and patient care skills
- Is reliable, flexible and able to integrate quickly into an established team
- Ideally has experience using SystmOne, although this is not essential
